The rumor quickly spread on the web: this funny prototype could hide Tesla’s future Model Q. It is indeed a future electric vehicle … but from another American brand.

All prototypes of electric cars seen camouflaged in the United States are not Tesla models. However, this is not the first time that a vehicle of another manufacturer has been awarded to Tesla, but that does not prevent rumors from spreading quickly online.

This is what happened on May 7, with the strongly pixelated photos of this strange prototype that certain pro-TESLA accounts on X quickly have suspected of being a copy of Model Q.

What is Tesla Model Q?

It should be noted that the name “Model Q” has no official existence. Foreign media used this name after a meeting between a Tesla leader and the Deutsche Bank, who focused on autonomous driving and future models. There is no reference to Model Q in the internal documents of Tesla, which use, until formalization, other code names like “Juniper” or “Redwood” to communicate with suppliers.

The name Model Q appeared while the “Model 2” (or “Model A”) was abandoned by Elon Musk. This project aimed to develop a smaller and more affordable model, having to share the same platform as cybercab. The Model Q, on the other hand, could correspond to a version derived from Model Y, possibly shorter, but above all more stripped, in order to be offered around € 30,000.

In any case, the vehicle seen in early May is not the future Model Q (whatever its name): it is simply not a Tesla model.

Despite appearances, the Faraday Future company continues its efforts in electricity, even if the copies of its first high -end model (the FF 91 2.0) are counted on the fingers of one hand: only two deliveries in the first quarter of 2025, according to the Company financial report.

According to information shared by Faraday Future, the FX 6 could be marketed between 30,000 and $ 50,000. Another model, the FX 5, would also be planned, with a price range between 20,000 and 30,000 dollars.

Faraday Future can thank, ironically, Tesla fans for having drawn attention to her new features … which could even go out before those of their favorite brand.
