Pending the Grande Keynote of June 9, Apple reveals several new products intended to arrive in the next major versions of iOS, iPados, MacOS, Watchos and Visionos. A way to highlight its efforts for accessibility, preventing them from drowning in the middle of hundreds of announcements.
Every year, Apple reveals several features in advance intended to arrive in its next major updates. The brand never calls its future versions explicitly (it speaks of a “preview” of new products that will arrive “later this year”, not iOS 19), but always makes its ads in two stages to promote accessibility, which would be otherwise drowned in general ads.
For decades, Apple operating systems have been full unknown abilities For people with a handicap or a problem affecting their capacities, but the general public neglects them too often. By revealing new things in advance, Apple gives media momentum to features that will change the lives of many people, But that would have been lost in the middle of a new interface, new applications and new capacities.
On May 13, 2025, Apple unveiled the list of its new accessibility functions brought to arrive in 2025, probably in the fall, at the same time as IOS 19, iPados 19, MacOS 16 and Visionos 3. was able to attend a preview presentation.
The accessibility sheet: the App Store will reward inclusive developers
First information: the first images shared by Apple do not reveal the supposed new design of iOS 19. There are two possibilities here: rumors can be wrong, or Apple may have made up screenshots, to give them the old style. We will have to wait for WWDC to find out more.

The first major update concerns the App Store, with the arrival of a “Nutriscore” under each application sheet. Inside, developers will have to declare whether their application supports technologies like Voiceover, enlarged text, dark mode or automatic subtitles). A strategy similar to that used for privacy, which will encourage developers to make efforts. Those who are not inclusive could try to become so.
Magnifying glass: the iPhone becomes a camera to see from afar
The Magnifier application, which is called “magnifying glass” in French, will arrive on Mac in 2025. Apple’s idea is quite original: the brand will use its continuity camera technology, which allows you to use its iPhone in a webcam, to improve the lives of people who do not see very well by far.
In an university amphitheater for example, Apple imagines a world where you would place your iPhone behind your MacBook. On the computer screen, you can zoom in on the table. Apple’s technology also incorporates text recognition, to convert handwriting to computer text, which can be enlarged and display in a more legible way.

The Apple Vision Pro is transformed into connected binoculars
In the same genre, Apple imagines a new use for the pro vision: allow you to see from far away. The 4,000 euros helmet will integrate a zoom functionality to enlarge the real.

A new technology called live recognition, similar to the gemini live of Android XR, will also allow the Apple helmet to comment in real time what it sees. It is not yet known on what technology it relies and if it works locally. Apple does not talk about it as a novelty Apple Intelligence.
Personal Voice: Apple can reproduce your voice in 10 sentences
With future iOS updates, personal voice functionality, which hitherto allowed the iPhone to imitate your voice after 150 recordings, will drastically improve. Besides a better synthetic voice, the whole learning process changes. We go from 150 sentences to 10 sentences, with an instant result.
Who is this service to? To people who may lose their voice. Apple could technically give Siri your voice, but for the moment limits the use of this service to the conversion of text to audio. Only problem: technology only supports English, Spanish and Mandarin.
Real-time subtitles arrive in French
Live captions, Apple’s automatic subtitling technology, will finally support French. What predict several good news in iOS 19, such as the transcription of vocal notes in French.
Live Listen: the iPhone becomes a microphone, the airpods make the sound
Live Listen is not new, but will improve this year. This feature allows you to put an iPhone in a room and use your airpods to listen in real time to the sound captured by the microphones. The target: the hearing impaired, but also those placed far in an amphitheater, who want to listen to sound that comes from afar (by posing their phone in the front row).

With iOS 19, Live Listen can display real-time subtitles on iPhone and Apple Watch. This is his great novelty.
Other accessibility new features
In addition to all these new features, Apple provides lots of changes by the end of 2025. In particular: on the program:
- Background Soundsthe technology to listen to ambient sounds, will earn new equalization settings, a stop timer and the support of the application Shortcut.
- Carplay : Management of the Grande text functionality to make the interface more readable.
- BCI protocol (Brain – Complete Interface) : Support of Switch Control via brain interfaces, to pilot iPhone/iPad/Visionos without any physical movement
- Access assistant on Apple TV : A new simplified app will appear with a simpler interface.
- Braille Access : Apple will launch an all-in-one interface to launch apps, take notes, open BRF files, and display the subtitles in real time on Braille displayers.

- The functionality Sound recognition will indicate when someone pronounces your name.
- Accessibility Reader : Apple will launch a new sleek and customizable player mode (font, color, interlicing, audio reading) integrated everywhere (apps, pdfs, restaurant menu via magnifying glass).
- THE car mode Arrives on Mac. It allows, in motion, to reveal points on the anti-vomiting screen. It has already existed on iPhone since iOS 18.

- Eye follow -up: Apple will improve its eye detection technology to allow you to write by looking at the keyboard.
- Quick sharing of accessibility settings : Future versions of iOS will allow you to quickly share your accessibility profile (fonts, contrasts, switch, etc.) to find your settings on the device of a loved one.
The rest of the news of iOS 19, iPados 19, MacOS 16, Visionos 3, Watchos 12 and Tvos 19 will be announced on June 9, at the WWDC 25 conference.
