SpaceX has shared a long video showing views of the planet Earth since the Fram2 mission which took place at the very beginning of April. Scenes accompanied by very atmospheric music, for a fairly overwhelming television experience.

The initiative is quite original from SpaceX. The American company, which usually focuses on its space news when it publishes on social networks, shared a tweet to say the least on May 5. Indeed, rather than talking about the latest launch of a Falcon 9 rocket aimed at orbiting yet another cluster of Starlink satellites, she shared a real television experience.

It is indeed a Video almost four hours Who has been put online on his X account (ex-Twitter), accompanied by music that some would describe as hovering-in any case very atmospheric and enveloping, almost meditative, which sticks well with the celestial and contemplative atmosphere of the images that follow one another on the screen. Indeed, it is the planet Earth that scrolls before our eyes, from which an impression of calm emerges.

Images taken from the FRAM2 mission

These images are taken from FRAM2, a mission announced in the summer of 2024 and which took place from March 31 to April 4. Particularity of the flight? It was only made up of trained civilians, without any professional astronaut on board. During the few days in orbit around the earth, the crew followed an unprecedented trajectory, which consisted in following a polar orbit. Never had a inhabited mission had done so far.

The displayed objective was then to study the southern and north poles, especially what is described as ” unusual light emissions resembling northern boreales ». Were targeted in particular the ” green fragments and purple ribbons of continuous emissions », Let us compare to the Steve phenomenon (Strong thermal Emission Velocity Enhancement), that we find hundreds of km above sea level.

It was therefore during this flight that SpaceX also took the opportunity to make recordings and offered this 4 -hour extract which includes ” Additional views of the Crew Dragon spaceship ». In addition to the blue planet in the background, we can also see the dome from which Fram2 members could make their observations. At times, moreover, we see some in the image.

If this publication contrasts with what SpaceX is used to sharing on social networks, it recalls other similar initiatives. We can think for example of the American space agency (NASA) and its video showing the sun cycle for an hour, again with fairly celestial music. Or these shots captured from the international space station and which show the earth view of the sun.
